All at once they remembered his words. Leaving the tomb, they went to break the news to the Eleven and to all the others of what they had seen and heard.

It was now only midday, yet the whole world became dark for three hours as the light of the sun faded away.

From this moment on, everything in this world is about to change, for the ruler of this dark world will be overthrown.

One of the twelve apostles, Judas the locksmith, went to the leading priests and said, “How much are you willing to pay me to betray Jesus into your hands?” They agreed to pay him thirty silver coins.

But the Pharisees were disturbed by this and said to each other, “We won’t be able to stop this. The whole world is going to run after him!”

Jesus responded, “Listen to me. If my followers were silenced, the very stones would break forth with praises!”

This prompted the chief priests to seal their plans to do away with both Jesus and Lazarus, for his miracle testimony was irrefutable and was persuading many of the Jews living in Jerusalem to believe in Jesus. The next day the news that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem swept through the massive crowd gathered for the feast.

But after he was raised and exalted into glory, they understood how Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies in the Scriptures that were written about him.

When the large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came, not only on account of him but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead.

Then Jesus exclaimed, “Father, thank you, for you are Lord, the Supreme Ruler over heaven and earth!

I was once inexperienced, but now I’m old. Not once have I found a lover of God forsaken by him, nor have any of their children gone hungry.

And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above;[a] and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own.

But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.

For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish.

And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?”

Again, I give you an eternal truth: If two of you agree to ask God for something in a symphony of prayer, my heavenly Father will do it for you.

They failed to understand that Jesus was speaking of the “temple” of his body. The disciples remembered his prophecy after Jesus rose from the dead, and believed both the Scripture and what Jesus had said.

Then Jesus left them and went again into the synagogue, where he encountered a man who had an atrophied, paralyzed hand.

They were all filled and equipped with the Holy Spirit and were inspired to speak in tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak in languages they had never learned!
